The Be Seen Challenge: An Invitation to Stop Hiding and Show Up as You Are
If I’m being honest, most of the women I work with don’t struggle with confidence.
They’re capable.
They’re thoughtful.
They’re doing meaningful work.
What they struggle with is being seen.
Not because they aren’t ready, but because being visible can feel vulnerable. Putting your face out there, especially when your work matters to you, can feel like a lot.
And I get it. Truly.
February feels like the perfect time to talk about this, because by now the “new year, new you” energy has usually worn off. And honestly? I don’t believe most women need to become someone new.
Honoring the Woman Who Already Exists
I believe there’s something powerful about honoring the woman you already are.
The one shaped by every season you’ve walked through.
The wins and the missteps.
The growth you didn’t even notice at the time.
All of it matters.
All of it has brought you here.
And that woman is worthy of being seen, exactly as she is.
That belief is at the heart of The Be Seen Challenge.
What The Be Seen Challenge Is Really About
This challenge isn’t about perfect photos, polished branding, or “look at me” energy.
It’s about practicing visibility without ego, without perfection, and without performance.
It’s about showing up and saying, here I am, even if your voice shakes a little. Even if the photo isn’t brand new. Even if you’re still figuring things out.
The invitation is simple:
Choose one face-forward photo of yourself.
Share a few words about who you are or the work you do.
That’s it.
One post is enough.
Why Community Matters Here
One thing I care deeply about is creating space where women don’t feel like they’re competing with each other.
This challenge isn’t about standing out at the expense of someone else. It’s about standing in your own power while still seeing the woman beside you and cheering her on.
Because visibility is easier together.
At Jessica McIntosh Photography, I don’t rush women past fear. I walk with them through it. I’ve seen over and over again how powerful it is when women feel supported, understood, and not pushed to perform.
Courage doesn’t mean fear is gone.
It means what you’re building matters more.
Why Being Seen Matters in Your Business
If you’re a business owner, your presence matters.
People don’t just connect with what you offer; they connect with you. Your face, your energy, your story.
Branding photography isn’t about vanity. It’s about alignment. It’s about having visuals that reflect who you are and where you’re going, so you can show up with confidence and be taken seriously in your work.
Being seen isn’t about being loud.
It’s about being real.
A Small Way I’m Celebrating Women Who Show Up
As a way to celebrate the courage it takes to show up, one woman who participates in The Be Seen Challenge will receive an In-Studio Mini Branding Session in Nashville.
The session includes:
• A 30-minute branding session at a beautiful Nashville studio
• 7 professionally retouched, high-resolution images
• Option to upgrade to the full gallery (75+ images)
• A pre-session consultation call with me
• The JMP Branding Style Tips Magazine
• Full usage rights for all final images
The giveaway will be awarded on March 1.
This isn’t about winning.
It’s about practicing being seen.
If You’ve Been Waiting for a Sign
If you’ve been waiting until you feel more confident, more prepared, or more ready, this is your sign.
You don’t need a new version of yourself.
You don’t need perfect photos.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be willing to show up.
Join The Be Seen Challenge anytime throughout February. I can’t wait to see how you show up, and I’ll be right here cheering you on.
Be seen. Be known. Be celebrated.
With love,
Jessica
